InstaTurf® hybrid reinforcement is engineered specifically to protect soil and vegetation in environments dominated by water movement. While all hybrid systems reinforce natural landscapes, InstaTurf is purpose built for hydraulic shear forces that traditional stabilization methods often fail to manage long term.

Rather than replacing vegetation with hard armor, InstaTurf works with soil and root systems to create a reinforced, biologically anchored surface. It stabilizes vulnerable swales, channels, pond banks, and slopes by holding soil in place while allowing grasses and native plants to root through the structure and strengthen the system over time.

Protects Until Vegetation Takes Root

Water erosion is not random. In managed landscapes, shear stress concentrates in predictable zones such as channel bends, slope transitions, inflow points, and areas of accelerated runoff where soil is repeatedly exposed to hydraulic force.

InstaTurf functions as a reinforced stabilization layer that anchors to the soil surface. Before vegetation is established, it immediately shields soil from direct shear stress, disperses flow energy, and reduces soil displacement during storm events.

As grasses and native plants root through the system, their root mass integrates with the structure to create a biologically reinforced surface. The result is a stabilized, vegetated channel or slope that resists erosion both immediately after installation and long after full establishment.

Many erosion control projects are located where heavy truck access is difficult, disruptive, or costly. Traditional riprap requires multiple loads of stone, staging areas, and large equipment that can damage existing vegetation before installation even begins.

InstaTurf is lightweight and easier to transport, reducing the number of truckloads required to reach the site. Rolls or mats can be carried into place with minimal equipment, limiting disturbance to surrounding landscapes and preserving existing vegetation along the access path.

Fewer trucks also mean less noise, less neighborhood disruption, and reduced vehicle emissions during installation.

The result is engineered erosion control that performs like rock, without the logistical burden and site impact that rock typically requires.
