Installation and Maintenance

Quick Start / Simple Instructions

1. Prep

Take time to level the ground so there are no mounds and dips. There can be a slope to the ground, you just want to avoid valleys where water will pool.
We recommend seeding the area before installation.

2. Unroll

Hybrid turfs come in rolls. Unroll the product in the same direction for each roll. Align edges to cover the area you are repairing.

3. Cut & Anchor

Our hybrid turf products cut with standard shears. Cut it to the contour of the yard or area you are fixing and use the provided anchors to hold it in place. You can stretch the hybrid turf a little for a tighter, more even installed look.

Occasional Inspection

Repair & Replace

We recommend a visual inspection of the installed hybrid turf from time to time. What you are looking for is anchors that have loosened, edges that have flipped up or any areas that have torn or worn due to abuse.

If you find loose anchors, remove them if no longer needed or use a mallet to drive them into the ground again.

If you find torn or worn areas, refer to our Repair & Replace recommendations.

Occasionally the hybrid turf will get torn or worn. The beauty of the hybrid turf is that you only need to repair or replace the impacted area. Cut out the damaged area and remove. Cut a new piece of the same type of hybrid turf (same brand and style) to the size of the piece you cut out and install - anchoring in place.

Be sure to seed before installing it and keep the area damp while seeds germinate.

Mowing

Over Seeding

Hybrid turfs are designed so that you can mow over them. We recommend setting your blade height to no less than 3" when mowing over the hybrid turf. This height should provide adequate space between the height of the hybrid turf (0.75" or less) and your mower blades.

Since our hybrid turf are 50% open / perforated, or more, you can over-seed when needed. We recommend going slightly above the recommended seeding instructions of your seed to accommodate for seeds that do not fall down through the openings to the soil below.
